To ensure that the events at Wohlleben's Forest Academy can be experienced by people throughout Germany, we offer training that allows you to become a forest guide and independently conduct the forest tours for children and adults designed by Wohlleben's Forest Academy in your region.

The training to become a forest guide at our Forest Academy is characterized by its high practical relevance and includes, among other things, the following key topics :

Duration of training
The training to become a forest guide at Wohlleben's Forest Academy lasts a total of 10 days . The training venues are the modern facilities of Wohlleben's Forest Academy in Wershofen, as well as the Forest Academy's wonderful primeval forest project .
During the training days, conference drinks and a vegan lunch snack are included.

My motivation for registering for this seminar was my love of the forest and the desire to share that love with others, or to awaken or rekindle it. The approach Peter Wohlleben provides seemed ideal for this.
When I finally arrived and met the group and the lecturers at the seminar, I immediately knew I was in the right place and that my expectations and wishes would be exceeded. It felt so good to be with like-minded people who, nevertheless, couldn't have been more different in their experiences and backgrounds. I learned to 'rethink' the forest. I was able to experience two wonderful, educational weeks at the Forest Academy with fascinating, friendly, and extremely dedicated lecturers. Everyone is passionate about their work and shares their knowledge about forests and nature in a way that makes you want to do it yourself. I was particularly impressed by the positive attitude towards the future of the forest – despite all the gloomy forecasts. You receive food for thought and valuable ideas about how everyone can make their own contribution to protecting the forest, nature, and thus us humans.
All of this takes place in the beautiful natural surroundings of Wershofen and the pleasant atmosphere of the Forest Academy. The catering (drinks, vegan lunch, chocolate, etc.) and the overall organization were excellent.

"No matter what you do with it afterward, you'll never walk into the forest with the same eyes again" - that's how a friend recommended the training to me. And that's exactly how it is. But since the training is so well-designed, combining didactics, practical exercises, and forest knowledge, the desire to offer forest tours myself is greater after the training than before. Much of what you learn (didactics, pedagogy, language) can also be applied in other areas.
The passionate, humorous team at the Waldakademie was also great and inspired us every second.

What does the training cost
The 10-day training to become a forest guide costs 2295 euros.
If you choose the Klarna payment method , you can pay the amount in three installments without incurring any additional costs.
We also offer you the option of paying this amount in six installments.

Do I need any special prior knowledge?
There are no special requirements or prior knowledge required to participate in the training to become a forest guide.
Is there a certificate at the end of the training?
The forest guide training concludes with a certificate upon successful completion of the course. This requires not only the active development and conduct of a forest tour as part of the training, but also attendance at at least eight training days.
Is there an exam
There is no final exam at the end of the training. However, successfully planning, developing, and conducting your own forest tour as part of the training is a prerequisite for receiving a certificate from us at the end.
Weiß ich nach den 10 Tagen genug, um Waldführungen anbieten zu können? Wie kann ich mir den Kosten-Nutzen Faktor vorstellen?
Ja, du bekommst dafür den nötigen Werkzeugkasten mit von uns auf den Weg und genügend Wissen, um danach aktiv werden zu können. Um eine gute Waldführung zu gestalten, musst du nicht jedes Detail wissen - wir zeigen dir, was wichtig ist. Zudem wirst du ganz neue Perspektiven erfahren und durch die intensive 10-tägige Schulung persönlich wachsen. Außerdem hast du während und nach der Ausbildung die Möglichkeit, dir ein starkes Netzwerk an Kontakten aufzubauen, das dir zusätzlichen Rückhalt für deinen Start als Waldführer*in gibt.
Was kann ich nach der Ausbildung beruflich machen?
Es gibt unterschiedliche Möglichkeiten, nach der Ausbildung tätig zu sein. Die Ausbildung zum/zur Waldführer*in befähigt dich zum Beispiel, selbstständig Gruppen im Wald anzuleiten. Die wald- und naturpädagogischen Fähigkeiten, die du erlernst, kannst du aber auch als Weiterbildung in deinen aktuellen Job einbringen. Viele Arbeitgebende schätzen das Zertifikat, das du erhältst. Auch eine nebenberufliche Tätigkeit oder Anstellung als Honorarkraft bei Naturschutzverbänden, Schulen oder KiTas ist möglich.
Einige der Teilnehmenden nutzen die Ausbildung tatsächlich auch als persönliche, inspirierende Auszeit, in der man sehr vieles für sich mitnimmt, ohne dies beruflich nutzen zu wollen.

Das gemeinsame Praxistraining im Wald ist ein elementarer Teil der Waldführer*innen-Ausbildung und lässt sich nicht online reproduzieren. Für alle, die mehr Wert auf theoretische Kenntnisse legen, haben wir 2024 unsere zertifizierte Wald- und Naturpädagogik Online-Fortbildung "WaldBotschafter" ins Leben gerufen.
